  1. Good morning Hamsters. Kinda drizzly and 51 at 6, lightning in the distance toward Houston, so perhaps today it will be advisable to keep an umbrella handy.

    #4 Super Dave

Woo-hoo, poor ole Chucky Todd’s whine stirred up an avalanche of fed-up Americans who pummel him in the comments section. As far down as I read, there was not one supportive comment. And of course all his like-minded media cohorts are also covered by the same comments, they just don’t know it yet.

Just stand back and let them implode further.

  2. Shannon says:
    FEBRUARY 16, 2017 AT 11:27 PM
I used to accuse Texpat of being Eddie Haskell.
Cruel and undeserved. I should apologize.

    But I just can’t.

    Point of clarity request:

To whom would you be apologizing, Texpat or Eddie Haskell?

  3. You could tell that President Trump was having fun messing with the press yesterday. Sort of reminded me of an adult playing mind games with a 10 year old; and the more frustrated they got, the more he rubbed it in. And of course, without appearing to be mean in any way. A professional wannabe should study his technique and try to copy it.

Now, what’s in store for today. I hear that Tillerson is making changes over at State but can’t seem to get much detail. Hopefully the same is happening at DOJ. And EPA staffers, forgetting who they work for, are calling Dem Senators to stop the EPA nominee. DTS Mr. President, DTS.

  4. Well, what a great way to work through a gloomy morning, reading the rants and wails of the lib/socialists who still can’t absorb that they and Hildebeast lost. And that ordinary Americans who pay most of the bills won bigtime. No sympathy, and we aren’t gonna pay for snowflake counseling sessions in their safe spaces.

  5. Heh–Chuck Toad and his toadie propagandist pals are all crying today.

Until you can admit you’re a propagandaholic Chuck, you’ll never get better.

My advice.–Go find a Chuck Toadstool to crawl under and cry.

I think maybe C Toad experienced his version of this in yesterday’s presser.

  6. I touched on this last night:

HEADLINE: Appeals court suspends proceedings over Trump travel ban
A U.S. appeals court on Thursday suspended proceedings over President Donald Trump’s travel ban for individuals from seven Muslim-majority countries, after Trump announced a new executive order would come soon.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals had been mulling whether to reconsider its ruling temporarily suspending Trump’s directive. In a court order, the 9th Circuit said it would put that process on hold pending further developments.

So I guess the re-write will be more robust in the face of the 9th circus and that terd-nozzle Robarts?

  7. Lest you forget, Obamacare is still the law of the land, and I’m not seeing any action in either house of Congress on that topic. Weasels eat their flesh.

  8. Dream team: Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Senator Ted Cruz as Co-Counsels arguing before the Supremes defending President Trump’s EO on banning immigrants from the seven Muslim countries. 🙂

  9. Once an arrogant, pompous jerk, always an arrogant, pompous jerk…

Barack Obama – the best thing to ever happen to the Republican Party and conservative movement.

It is difficult to overstate just how enraged state Democratic activists and leaders are with Organizing for Action (OFA), the political and community-organizing army that grew out of Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns.

The nonprofit, which functions as a sort of parallel-Democratic National Committee, was founded to mobilize Democratic voters and supporters in defense of President Obama’s, and the Democratic Party’s, agenda. Instead, the organization has drawn the intense ire, both public and private, of grassroots organizers and state parties that are convinced that OFA inadvertently helped decimate Democrats at the state and local level, while Republicans cemented historic levels of power and Donald J. Trump actually became leader of the free world.

    and,

“This is some GRADE A Bullsh!t right here,” Stephen Handwerk, executive director of the Louisiana Democratic Party, wrote in a private Democratic-listserv email obtained by The Daily Beast. Handwerk was reacting to news of OFA’s post-election retooling, which was shared “without comment” to the group of state-level Dems by Crystal Kay Perkins, executive director for Texas Democrats.

One of the main reasons the Democratic Party has failed so badly over the last eight years is because Obama ignored the grassroots and withdrew support from 50 state parties, redeploying money and assets to his Organizing for America machine and alienating the locals at ground level who might have helped the Party. He didn’t listen to them and insisted it was his way or the highway. These are the same people during the election season who were telling Hillary’s campaign that things were going horribly wrong and she ignored them too.

  10. Top pick for Flynn job turned it down.

The retired Navy SEAL may be enjoying life in the private sector but he also turned down the White House’s role over concerns that he would not have full say over the composition of his staff, The Washington Post, CBS News and The Financial Times reported, citing unnamed sources.

According to CBS, Trump insisted that Deputy National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland be allowed to stay on, and Harward refused to retain the former Fox News analyst and Flynn hire.

I said over a year ago that I would not consider a new Republican administration a success until the bottom fell out of the Washington Metro area real estate market.

  12. TGIF Yall Hamoustonians™ !

………..From the ‘better-late-than-never’ department for a VERY PROUD Papa Katfish:

My Son Guppie has only an hour or so left in school this morning to achieve completion / acquisition of his High School Diploma!

(He is 36 yrs old – only a slight 18 year lag time 🙂 )

For his last 2 of the 3 ‘hexters’ he came in with STRAIGHT As across the board.

    YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHAW!

  13. #24 – The back channel on Harward is that he would be an easy skate through the Senate; but the President did not want to allow him to populate his department with a bunch of other eReps, so he was unwilling to allow Harward to bring his own staff. A wise move by Trump, but once again, a premature announcement winds up coming back to bite him. But, better to expose these weasels up front rather than waiting until the damage has been done. Who new that the Director of NSA was such a political operation.

  14. Girl almost drowned chasing Roosevelt, but Teddy didn’t.

Margaret Mickle’s determination rewarded; drowning exaggerated.

Mickle met the president and snapped a picture for her friend. Roosevelt also accepted an invitation to Mickle’s house for dinner. Over the years the two became friends, writing about “half a dozen letters,” according Margaret Mickle. In an article she wrote in 1991, she recalled that he gave her “a pair of slippers made from fish skin, an autographed copy of the photo she took of him and Cole, and a .22 rifle.” For the rest of her life she never understood why Roosevelt gave her a rifle.

  15. #27 Katfish

Yea for Guppie. Never too old to make up for lost time and achieve good things.

Papa Katfish can be proud too. 🙂

  16. EPA boss man confirmed by Senate. Katy bar the door. Housecleaning to proceed immediately, and may it be thorough. Easy to start by finding the complainers who contacted their Senators to oppose the nomination and proceed from there.

Lots of emloyees needed to count penguins in Antarctica, or quit government service.

  17. Lots of emloyees needed to count penguins in Antarctica,

They should be charged with the task of checking polar bears for hemorrhoids, they have to check each and every one. That should fix the problem.

  18. Mr Katfish sir

    Good on Guppie KFish
Takes lots of courage for a grown man to do what he did. Dos Thumbs up and a Squawkbox Gitzit Award right there.

  19. It just struck me that Barbara Walters and Geraldo Rivera are twins.

Chuck Todd looks like he might be a twin to Matt Lauer.

George Stepontopofus is a twin the Michael Dukakis

  20. #34 & 35 Bonecrusher & GJT

Excellent suggestions. Now amongst the animal counters, those who get the short straws go north and get the polar bears. 🙂

  21. Super Dave’s wedding anniversary and birthday in the same week?

I wonder if he’Il break out the old stereo, resurrect the old SD hairstyle from his wedding picture and do this over the weekend.?.

  22. Whiskers: Please extend hearty congratulations to Guppy on my behalf. Getting that monkey off of his back can only be a good thing.

  23. Popping in for just a quick minute to let y’all know that despite all the ribbing I get, my snoods are a hit. I had one lady compliment me and then even asked if she could take a picture for her sister.

    Phblllllt

  24. Fortunately for Mardi Gras in Galveston the storms hanging over the island all day moved over toward NOLA late this afternoon. Hope the storm drains were working.

  25. College baseball is back. Rice opened tonight in Austin winning the first of a 4 game series by a score of 3-2. I’m a college baseball nut. So go Owls.
